This little bag is really easy and fun to do.
And it is perfect gift for a cute little girl in your life.
I made this one for my daughter. Her favorite color is pink so it is PINK! heheh
You can fill it with candies or other small gifts or use it to carry few personal items.
Dimensions are: approx. 12 cm/4.75 in width, 12 cm/4.7 in height.
If you work with thicker yarn you can make the bag bigger and if you use thinner yarn you can make it smaller.
This little bag is designed with much love and positive energy and there are no advertisements on this page so you can follow the pattern without distraction!

For this pattern you will need:
- Cotton yarn
(I used „Unitas Mirabela“, weight: Sport/5 ply, 155 yards (142 meters) in 50 grams (1.76 ounces)) but you can use any other yarn similar to this one here is also the link to Ravelry about that yarn http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/unitas-mirabela and link to the list of substitute yarns http://yarnsub.com/yarns/unitas/mirabela
- 3 mm crochet hook
- yarn needle
You will use a double strand of cotton yarn for this pattern.
That means you will hold two strands together to create one strand while crocheting.
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- slst – slip stitch
This pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms.
We will work the bag from the bottom to the top.
Round 1: Ch 20, 2 hdc in 3rd chain from the hook, 1 hdc in next 16 chains, 4 hdc in last chain, now on the other side of a starting chain make 1 hdc in next 16 chains, 2 hdc in last chain, slst in the first hdc from beginning.
Round 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in the same stitch that you made slst in, 2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next 16 stitches, 2 hdc in next 4 stitches, 1 hdc in next 16 stitches, 2 hdc in next 2 stitches, slst in the first hdc from beginning.
Round 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in the same stitch that you made slst in, 2 hdc in next 2 stitches, 1 hdc in next 19 stitches, 2 hdc in next 6 stitches, 1 hdc in next 17 stitches, 2 hdc in next 3 stitches, slst in the first hdc from beginning.
To make the body of the bag we will not join every round with slst so you can put stitch marker on that last stitch or you can put piece of contrasting yarn like I did so you’ll know where every round ends. This is not very important but it is good to know. 🙂
Make 1 sc in every stitch around and continue to work sc until you have about 25 rounds. You can do more if you want your bag to be taller.
When you are satisfied with the height of the bag lay it flat down and work your last stitch about 2,5 cm/1 in before the end of the bag like on the picture above.
We will now make the cover.
Row 1-11: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in next 5 stitches, 1 hdc in next 10 stitches, 1 sc in next 5 stitches.
Row 12: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in next 5 stitches, 1 hdc in next 4 stitches, ch 4, skip next 2 stitches, 1 hdc in next 4 stitches, 1 sc in next 5 stitches. Fasten off.
You just made a cover with a hole for the button.
Now make 1 sc on every row on the side of the cover and in every sc. Around ch 4 (where the button will go through) make 5 sc. Fasten off.
Holding only one strand of yarn attach contrasting color to the first stitch of the cover side but only through the back loop, ch 2, 3 hdc in that same loop, make 3 hdc in every stitch around the cover only through the back loop. Fasten off.
Now to make the strap make about 210 chains holding two strand of yarn (you should get about 115 cm/45 in long chain if you need more chains to reach that size than make more), 1 dc in 3rd chain from the hook and in every chain to the end. Fasten off.
Attach contrasting color and make 1 sc in every dc, 3 sc around dc on the sice, 1 dc in every stitch on the other side of a starting chain, 3 sc around last dc, slst in first sc from the beginning. Fasten off.
Let’s make flowers and leafs!
Make two ch, 12 hdc in 2nd chain from the hook. Slst in the 1st hdc from the beginning.
Now we are going to do petals.
Insert hook into the back loop only of the hdc on the pestle and attach dark pink yarn.
Make 8 ch’s and sc back into that same loop. *Make sc into the next back loop, 8 ch, sc into the same loop. Repeat from * all the way around. (12 petals made)
Now we are going to make second row of petals and you do them only through front loop of the sc on the pestle.
*Sc into the first loop, ch 6, sc into that same loop. Repeat from * all the way around. Fasten off.
LEAF 1 (holding one strand):
Chain 30, 3 sc in second chain from the hook, 3 sc in every
chain to the end. Fasten off.
LEAF 2 (holding one strand):
Slst in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc, 3 dc, 2 trc, 2 dc, in last
ch make 1 sc, 1 slst, 1 sc.
Now on the other side of foundation chain make 2
dc, 2 trc, 3 dc, 2 sc. Fasten off.
It’s time to assemble everything. 🙂
Pinch the side of the bag a little and tie some cute button.
It is important that the button can go through the row of dc on the strap. This way you can change the length of the strap if you want.
Tie a button on the other side too and in front for the cover.
Tie flower and leafs too.
Weave in all ends and your bag is finished!!!
I hope you enjoyed it! 🙂
