This pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms.
For this pattern you will need:

Cotton yarn

I use this yarn www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/unitas-mirabela  You can also use some of these brands if they are available to you for my patterns Aunt Lydia’s fashion 3 size 100% Mercerized cotton or “Patons Grace” 100% mercerized cotton or anything similar.

3 mm crochet hook

4 mm crochet hook

yarn needle

You will use a double strand of cotton yarn for this pattern.
That means you will hold two strands together to create one strand while crocheting.

Stitches used:

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

slst – slip stitch

LET’S START!!!

With crochet hook 3 mm and holding two strands of yarn.

Row 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, slst in the 1st sc from beginning. (6)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in next stitch, 2 sc in every stitch around, slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (12)

Row 3: Ch 1, *1 sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (18)

Row 4: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (24)

Row 5: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 3 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (30)

Row 6: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 4 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (36)

Row 7: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 5 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (42)

Row 8: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 6 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (48)

Row 9: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 7 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (54)

Row 10: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 8 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (60)

Row 11: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 9 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (66)

Row 12: Ch 1, *1 sc in next 10 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, (repeat from * around), slst in the ch 1 from beginning. (72) Fasten off.

Now let’s do the upper part

With crochet hook 3 mm.

Row 13: Make sc around the bottom like on the pictures bellow, slst in ch 1 from the beginning.

(on the pictures I used contrasting color for your better understanding but on the basket I used same color like the bottom)

From now use crochet hook 4 mm.

Row 14: Ch 1, 1 sc in next stitch and in every stitch around, slst in ch 1 from the beginning.

Row 15 – 22: Repeat row 14.

After the row 18 I changed color to blue. You can change color like on the picture bellow.

Row 21: Ch 1, 1 hdc in next stitch and in every stitch around but only through back loop of the stitch from previous row, slst in ch 1 from the beginning. Fasten off.

Now, again with crochet hook 3 mm but this time holding only one strand of yarn, attach white yarn into that front loop.

Chain 3, dc into the same loop, *ch 1, 1 dc in next loop, ch1, 1 dc in the same loop, repeat from * around. Fasten off.

Attach yarn to the edge of the bottom like on the picture and holding two strands of yarn with 3 mm crochet hook make:

*1 sc in next 4 stitches, ch 6, 1 sc in the same stitch, repeat from * around, slst in the first sc from the beginning. Fasten off.

Holding two strands of yarn with 3 mm crochet hook make two handles:

Ch 30, 1 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in every chain to the end. Fasten off.

Holding one strand of yarn with 3 mm crochet hook make four flowers:

Start with chain 4, slst in first chain to join in a ring.

Round 1:

*ch 3, sc into the ring, repeat from * 5 times.

Round 2:

*slst in 3ch space, ch 1, 3 dc in same 3ch space, ch 1, slst in same space, repeat from * 5 times.

Weave in all ends and pull the handles through the row of hdc like on the picture.

And through the flower.

Let the flowers be apart about 8 hdc’s. Make the handle on the opposite side of the basket too.

AND YOU’RE DONE! 🙂

Fill your basket with colored eggs and a cute rabbit. 🙂
