If you’re a beginner this is perfect project for you.
It is easy and quick and perfect gift for any occasion.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches!
For this pattern you will need:
- Cotton yarn
(I used „Unitas Mirabela“, weight: Sport/5 ply, 155 yards (142 meters) in 50 grams (1.76 ounces)) but you can use any other yarn similar to this one here is also the link to Ravelry about that yarn http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/unitas-mirabela and link to the list of substitute yarns http://yarnsub.com/yarns/unitas/mirabela
- 3 mm crochet hook
- yarn needle
You will use a double strand of cotton yarn for this pattern.
That means you will hold two strands together to create one strand while crocheting.
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- slst – slip stitch
This pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms.
I used these 4 colors to make the coaster:
Row 1: Ch 3, 8 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, slst in the first hdc that you made.
Row 2: Ch 2, make 2 hdc in the same stitch that you made slip stitch and in every stitch around, slst in the first hdc that you made.
To change the color, just pull second color through the loop and ch 2.
Row 3: Ch 2, make one hdc in the same hdc that you made slst in, 2 hdc in next stitch, *1hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next (repeat from * around), slst in the hdc from the beginning of the row.
Row 4: Ch 2, make one hdc in the same hdc that you made slst in, 1 hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch, *1 hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next (repeat from * around), slst in the hdc from the beginning of the row.
Row 5: Ch 2, 1 hdc in the same hdc that you made slst in, ch 2, 1 hdc in same stitch, *skip next stitch, “1 hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc” in next stitch, repeat from * to the end, slst in the first hdc from beginning.
Row 6: Ch 2, in every chain 2 space make “1 sc, ch 4, 1 sc”, slst in the first sc from beginning.
Row 7: Ch 1, *in next ch 4 space make “1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 4, slst in 4th chain from the hook, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc”, skip next sc, slst in next sc, repeat from * to the end. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends and your coaster is finished!!!
