So, if you are ready, LET’S START! 🙂

For this pattern you will need:

  • two contrasting colors of cotton yarn

I use this yarn www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/unitas-mirabela  You can also use some of these brands if they are available to you for my patterns Aunt Lydia’s fashion 3 size 100% Mercerized cotton or “Patons Grace” 100% mercerized cotton or anything similar.

  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • yarn needle

You will use a double strand of cotton yarn for this pattern.

That means you will hold two strands together to create one strand while crocheting.

Stitches used:

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • dec – decrease
  • slst – slip stitch
  • yo – yarn over

This pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms.

dec – decrease

insert hook into next st, pull loop through, yo, pull through one loop, insert hook into next st, pull loop through, yo, pull through all three loops

First make two soles with 3 mm crochet hook.

Start by making 14 chains.

1st round:

Make dc in the third chain from the hook, make 1 dc in next 10 ch, make 4 dc in last ch, make 1 dc in every stitch on the other side of foundation chain (11 dc’s), join with slst in ch 2 space from beginning.

2nd round:

Ch 1, make 2 sc in each next 2 dc from previous round, 1 sc in next 8 dc, 2 sc in each next 6 dc, 1 sc in next 9 stitches, 2 sc in next dc, 2 sc in slst, slst in first sc from beginning.

3rd round:

Ch 1, make 2 sc in each next 3 sc from previous round, 9 sc, *1 hdc in next sc, 2 hdc in next sc (repeat from * 5 more times), 1 hdc, 9 sc, 2 sc in the each next 2 sc, 2 sc in slst, slst in first sc from beginning. Fasten off.

NOW WE GO FOR THE UPPER PART OF SHOE!

1st row (do this row with 3 mm crochet hook):

Join yarn into the sole by making sc and make sc into the sole all around like shown on the pictures, make slst in first sc.

From now use 4 mm crochet hook.

2nd row:

Ch 1, sc around, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

3rd row:

Ch 1, 16 sc, 8 dec, 16 sc, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

4th row: (do this row only through the back loop of the stitch)

Ch 1, sc around, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

5th row:

Ch 1, 11 sc, *1 dec, 1 sc – repeat from * 5 more times, 11 sc, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

6th row: (do this row only through the back loop of the stitch)

Ch 1, sc around, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

7th row:

Ch 1, 10 sc, 7 dec, 10 sc, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

8th row: (do this row only through the back loop of the stitch)

Ch 1, sc around, slst in ch 1 from beginning.

Now continue with 3 mm crochet hook and contrasting color.

Make 60 ch and then sc in first stitch from previous row. Make sc all around and make last sc in same stitch that you did first one. Make another 60 ch. Fasten off and tie a knot on every end.

Do sc around the sole with 3 mm crochet hook like shown on pictures. This will give shape to your shoe.

Now with 3 mm crochet hook and holding just one strand of yarn attach contrasting color to the front loop of a 7th row.

Insert hook through the first front loop and make ch 3, hdc into the same loop, *ch 1, 1 hdc in next loop, ch1, 1 hdc in the same loop, repeat from * around. (in every loop you’ll have 1hdc, 1ch,1hdc) Fasten off. Tie a knot to join two sides together.

Repeat this in front loops of row 5 and 3.

Wave in all ends and you’re done!!!  🙂
